The Cheolsu method of training inlcudes
following components, described in specific sections:
- Conditioning
by hiting
forging tools: use
of forging posts, sand boxes, forging pendulums, pillars, stones,
logs, bags fiiled with different materials, and other hard objects,
depending on avaliability and level of conditioning.
- Hanbang
liniments: soaking
body parts into brewed mixtures of herbs, minerals and animal components,
steeped in wine or distilled spirits, to enhance conditioning
effects.
- Ki
Gong: breathing
and mental techniques to control and induce Ki flow into the body
parts being trained. Ki flow and concentration is correlated to
blood flow, heating and twinkling and itching sensations. Ki flow
is controlled with mind visualization techniques and breathing exercises.
- Calisthenics: to strength muscles,
bones and joint tissues, to endure hard hitting, and inflict more
damage when striking or pressing targets.
